Antonio Sandoval Segura

Antonio Sandoval Segura passed away May 31, 2007 in San Jose, CA at the age of 59. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Olachea-Segura, his children Michelle Ann Segura, Ricky Segura, Judy Segura and Julie Segura. He is the son of Petra Segura, brother of Trinidad Segura Jr., Mary Helen Serrano, Alice Martinez, Sally Hernandez, Rosie Yamaguchi, and Patsy Segura. He was preceded in death by his father Trinidad Segura and his sisters Beatrice Calderon and Stella Campos and brother Augustine Segura. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, including Robert Wartenbe and many nieces and nephews.

Passed away in Gilroy. The son of Miguel and Gloria Cruz of Hollister. Visitation: Sunday, June 3rd 12:00 noon until 9:00 P.M. Rosary: 7:00 P.M. at funeral home. Mass: Monday, June 4th at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

May Snell Damm died May 29th at the age of 94 in her Hollister home. Born in Nevada City, California, she came to Hollister at a young age. May resided in Hollister, except when pursuing her education and career.

Norman E. Hawkins

Norman E. Hawkins, beloved husband, father and brother, peacefully passed away at his home on May 27, 2007, at the age of 84. He was born September 29, 1922 in Madera, Pennsylvania and resided in Morgan Hill for 20 years. He grew up in Pennsylvania and served 3-1/2 years in the Air Force during WWII. He married his childhood sweetheart, Irene Johnson and they had 4 children before moving to Venice, CA in 1956, where he worked in the electronics industry until his retirement in 1985. He and his wife moved to Morgan Hill in 1985 to be closer to family, where he spent his time enjoying his family, grandchildren, woodworking, reading and taking walks around the neighborhood. He was a member for 20 years at Morgan Hill Bible Church. He was 1 of 11 children and was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Wertz Hawkins and Edward Hawkins and 5 of his brothers and 1 of his sisters, as well as his two daughters, Becky and Susan Hawkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Irene L. Hawkins of Morgan Hill, CA. Also, his sons Norm (Bud) Hawkins of Citrus Heights and David Hawkins of Morgan Hill; his brothers Ed Hawkins of Wilmington, NC, Herb Hawkins and Jerry Hawkins of Glen Hope, PA and his sister Peggy McKeehan of Carlisle, PA. He has 9 grandchildren, Carol Kuzma, Kimberly Guardiola, Brittany & Mark Hawkins of Northern CA; Sarah, Deborah, Danielle, April & Allison Bush of Southern California as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Luke Guardiola, Hayley Dorman, Isaac Kuzma of No. Calif.; Rachel Ayala, Bianca Bush-Vargas of So. Calif, and another great-grandchild on the way.

Philip A. Bettencourt

Philip A. Bettencourt, age 66 years, passed away suddenly on Wednesday at St. Louise Regional Hospital. He was the son of Betty Ann Bettencourt and the late Arthur Bettencourt and long time companion of Frances DelReal. Arrangements are pending.

Sister of Yvette Gopar, Marybell Regalado, Kathy Lopez, Rosemary Lopez and the late Angelica Mondragon (1998). Aunt of Israel, Alejandro, Aniya, Aliyah, Anthony and David. Also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Born in Gilroy.

Gladys J. Brawley

Gladys J. Brawley, age 90, of Florence, OR, formerly of Morgan Hill, passed away on May 26, 2007.

Genevieve Adornetto

Genevieve Adornetto passed away May 22, 2007 in Los Gatos after a short illness. She was born on Christmas Day 1923, in Loguivy de la Mer, France, the fourth child of five born to Piere and Marie Ravad. During the second World War, she met and married U.S. Army Major Joseph Adornetto in Paris, France. She came to America with 600 other "war brides" on a Liberty ship that arrived in New York. Genevieve gave birth to two daughters, Michele born in 1946 and Janet born in 1951. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Adornetto (1961). Genevieve worked as a nurse in Alameda and will be remembered for her vibrant and energetic personality. She will be missed by all her family and friends including: her daughters, Michele Burch (Roger) and Janet Vanderhoof (Austin), grandchildren Joseph (Jennifer) and Sean (Darlene) Burch and Bryan (Laurie), Blair and Blake Vanderhoof and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Tyler, Sarah, Ian and Knox Burch and Camden Vanderhoof.
