Bonnie Panelli was born in Missouri in 1920 to Arcie and Rosa Yockey. Bonnie passed away after a brief illness in Palm Springs, California, on May 17, 2007. She was 87 years old.
Pauline K. Lucchelli passed away Wednesday afternoon in Hollister at the Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing facility at the age of 88. Pauline was born and lived all her life in San Juan Bautista. She is survived by her husband, Frank Lucchelli of San Juan Bautista and her sons, Frank Lucchelli of Pacifica and John Lucchelli, wife, Tillie, of Fresno, sister of Lena Kapphahn of Fresno and the late John and Joe Cravea and Josephine Lucchelli. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pauline Filice De Francesco passed away May 14, 2007 in Firebaugh, CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Mario De Francesco Sr. and son Alfred De Francesco. She is survived by her son Mario De Francesco Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Firebaugh, daughter Louise Lindeleaf and her husband Robert Lindeleaf of Fresno, and daughter-in-law Dolores De Francesco of Gilroy. She also leaves her grandchildren; Michelle Cardella, Frank, Mario III, Michael, and Christopher De Francesco, Mia Eaton, Toni Lindeleaf, and Robin Watenpaugh, 14 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Judy Filice of Gilroy.
John Andrew Ratti, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas. Born Giovanni Andrea Ratti on September 21, 1926, in Ziano Piacentino, Italy, he came to the United States as a student. A scholar and linguist, he received his bachelor's degree in classical languages from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and a master's in theology from the University of San Francisco. He settled in California with his family and became a citizen of the United States, changing his name to reflect his new citizenship. John worked in different careers throughout his life, but most recently taught seminary students at the La Salle Theological Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian Catholic Federation.
Mary Jane Ettenborough passed away Tuesday evening at Mabie Northside Skilled Nursing Facility at the age of 94. Born in Long Beach, she had lived in Mountain View nearly 40 years prior to coming to Hollister 5 years ago. Along with being a homemaker, she formerly was a credit counselor for The Emporium.
Nancy Campagna died on May 15, 2007 in Gilroy, CA. She was the wife of the late John R. Campagna. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Joan N. Lopez (Richard) and Christine E. Vogel. She is also survived by her 2 grandchildren, Laura Lopez and Kyle Vogel, both of San Jose. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Vicki Jo Weller passed away in Morgan Hill, May 14, 2007. She is survived by her husband, children and father. Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday at 1705 Pinecrest Dr. in San Martin.
Lois Lake Filice passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, May 12,2007. Born in Gilroy on September 7, 1930, to W. French and Gertrude Lake. She attended St. Mary's School, Gilroy High School and Hartnell College. She was a homemaker and worked for Vigna Walnut Shelling as a bookkeeper for 25 years.
Rita E. (Balardini) Sorel, 85, of 861 Monticelli Drive, Gilroy, CA, a former long time resident of North Adams, MA, died on May 13, 2007 in Gilroy, CA.
