Frances Holmes Stanfield passed away on March 23, 2007 in Milwaukee, WI at St. Luke's Hospital. She was born on May 2, 1924 in Gilroy to Harry and Fannie Holmes.
Diane passed away from internal complications brought about by bilateral total knee replacement. DeeDee was from Southern CA, and raised her family in Los Gatos. Her husband, Jason and her children Jason II, Holly Stewart-Carey, Tory Strong, and David survive her. She has ten grandchildren, Katie, Kelsey, Megan, Zack, Nicki, Jed, Jake, Rocky, Zeke, and Max.
Vera "Arlene" O'Dell, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007; she is now at peace after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of 53 years to Don O'Dell of San Martin, loving mother of Michael O'Dell and his wife, Lori of Boulder Creek and Laurie Frechette and her husband, Ben of Gilroy.
Marino "Reno" Salvetta died on April 3, 2007 in Palo Alto, CA. He was born January 12, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio and lived in Salinas, CA for 25 years and in Hollister, CA for 12 years. He was employed many years as an accountant in the produce business and was a past member of Kiwanis and The Elks Lodge and attended the First Presbyterian Church. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking and doing artwork and playing the guitar. He was also an avid Giants and A's fan. He and his wife, Vaughnie, were married in 1974 in Carson City, NV.
Karl Bonfert, 84, died peacefully with his family at his side. He was adventurous in heart and lived a rich and varied life. Karl was born in a German settled region of Roumania in the city of Kronstadt (Brasov). After he met Elsie, a nurse who cared for him as a wounded soldier, he moved to Germany where they were married. In 1949, with their baby daughter, they immigrated to San Francisco. He became an accountant at UNIVAR Co. In 1964, he moved to Gilroy as controller for Be Ge Mfg. His hobby of photography became a profession when he and Elsie began a business of wedding and commercial photography. They also sold many of his artistic scenery pictures.
Margarita G. Donato, widow of the late Luz Donato; mother of ten children, Adolph Donato, Mike Donato, Ernest Donato, Lucy D. Garcia, Marina D. Sanchez, Emily Berry and Sally Donato; preceded in death by, Joseph M. Donato, Joseph R. Donato and Manuel D. Donato. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 4-8 P.M. with a Vigil Service to commence at 7:00 pm, both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill.
Michael passed away in an airplane crash in Los Banos, CA and is survived by his parents, Joseph and Katherine; brother, Peter; his dog, Kirby; grandmother, Dorothy; several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
