Lulu came to her final rest on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, after 80 years of a joyous life. Lulu, born January 23, 1927 in San Bernardino, CA, was raised in Mexico and the Coachella Valley. She came to Gilroy in 1962. Her
Osvald passed away peacefully at his home in the company of friends and family. Born in Denmark, Osvald started a new life in California at the age of 21. While serving in WWII, he met his beloved wife Anna. They raised their three children in San Jose and Saratoga. Osvald owned and operated Coast Engraving and Gem Litho in San Jose, Ray's Photo Engraving and Pilot Printing in Santa Cruz. He was a Mason and a member of the Danish Lodge. Osvald was a hardworking, dependable, compassionate man and was loved by many.
Jim Ames, after a long battle with emphysema, passed away at his daughter's home, with her at his side. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Paula Ames, who passed away on December 23, 2005 and his daughter Kim Ames, who passed away on February 2, 2002.
Peggy S. McGraw passed away in Morgan Hill, CA, on March 19, 2007. She was born in San Jose, CA and lived her entire life in the Bay Area. She is survived by her four children, Carol, Sandra, Pam and Robert; ten grandchildren, Mark, Peggy, Michelle, Todd, Jim Jr., Krista, Christopher, Brittney, Courtney and Alan; and seven great-grandchildren.
Augustine S. Godoy died in Hollister on March 19, 2007, at the age of 83. He was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and lived in Hollister for over 50 years. He and his wife, Jennie, were married in 1953 in Hollister. He worked for San Benito Foods and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Sacred Heart Church, AARP, and The Guadalupana Society. His favorite pastime was working in his garden.
Gilbert M. Campa, born August 29, 1935 in Phoenix, AZ, entered through the gates of Heaven peacefully on March 15, 2007, with his loving family by his side after a brief but brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Sara S. Campa and his children, Cyndi, Manuel, Charles (Desiree), and Anthony Campa, all of Morgan Hill, and Angie Campa of Merced and Deanna Lozonne of Vacaville. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved equally. He is also survived by his siblings, Dolores Hollis of Bakersfield, Jessie Gonzales of Los Angeles, Esther Baltazar of Los Banos, Lupe Lira of Gilroy, Connie Ward of Coursegold, Joseph and George Campa of Gilroy. He was preceded in death by his son, Gilbert Campa Jr. of Hollister, his sister, Ramona Salas, his brother, Amando Campa and his parents, Jesus and Maria Campa of Gilroy. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 4-8 pm with a service on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 1:30 pm, both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. Interment will be private.
