William Leo Larkin

William passed away at the age of 77 at the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. He and his wife Ruth Jaurigue Larkin of 33 years have been living in Modesto for the past 6 years. Previously a Hollister resident for 50 years, 28 years in which he was on the Hollister Police force retiring as a sergeant. He is also an Army veteran with 6 years of military service from 1946 to 1953. He was a member of the American Legion, Police Association & enjoyed collecting toy cars. He is survived by his wife Ruth Jaurigue Larkin, children Debi Carr & Bryan Larkin of Stockton, Alvia Razo & Regina Espinosa both of Hollister, Dan McDonald of Modesto & Bill McDonald of El Cajon; brothers and sisters Jim Larkin, Ed Larkin, Carman Orbanosky, Louise Ferus & Mary Saford. Bill has 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Leo & Augusta Larkin and sister Marie Knight. Friends and Family are invited to join in the visitations held at the Salas Bros. Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, CA on Thursday March 22 from 8 AM to 10 AM. Gravesite Services will follow at 1 PM at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella. We will be gathering to honor William's memory at the Anderson Pea Soup Restaurant in Santa Nella after the burial services.

Leonard Gracia, son of Leonard & Florence Gracia beloved brother, uncle, & friend passed away March 9, 2007. He is survived by his sister Helen Martinez, two brothers, Frank, Jr. and David Gracia, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Valley Church in Gilroy, 7455 Eigleberry St., Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 6:00 pm.

Ralph F. Alvarez

Ralph F. Alvarez passed away in Gilroy, March 15, 2007. He was 83 years old. Ralph did not have any children of his own, but raised his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He is uncle of Olga Juarez and John Marinelli, grandfather of Rachael Juarez and Monica Juarez. great-grandfather of Tommy Rodriguez, Trinidad Rodriguez, Ralph Rodriguez, Rashele Rodriguez and Rita Torres, and brother of Nacho Alvarez and Nellie Garcia. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters.

Elizabeth E. Gomez

Elizabeth E. Gomez died in Hollister. She was a graduate of Bryman School in the medical assistant program and attended San Benito High School, was a member of Hillside Community Church and a lifetime resident of Hollister.

Melodean (Squirt) Woten

Melodean (Squirt) Woten passed away in Gilroy on March 14, 2007. She was 73 years old. She is survived by her husband Charles Woten of Gilroy, her children Terry (Barry) Shores of Gibbon, Nebraska, George Anne (Daniel) Martinez of Rocky Ford, Colorado, and Bruce (Vicki) Woten of Gilroy. She was the grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 13. She is also survived by numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son Michael.

Dennis Frank Dias

Dennis Frank Dias passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital last Wednesday at the age of 45. A native of Hollister, Dennis attended Tres Pinos School until the 8th grade, then graduated from San Benito High School. He served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Teresa M. Henry

Teresa M. Henry passed away suddenly at her residence, Sunday, March 11th at the age of 64 years. A native of Hollister, Teresa attended Sacred Heart Convent and Palma High School in Salinas. Upon graduation from high school she entered the convent of the Sister's Of Notre Dame and began her studies at the College of Notre Dame at Belmont, CA. As a Sister, (Religious), she received a Fellowship and did her post graduate studies at Fordham University in New York, completing her Masters Degree. She then continued to serve the church and teach at Notre Dame in Paris, France. Returning to the United States she continued to teach in Redwood City and made a vocational and career change in her life when she met her future husband to be, James M. Henry. Teresa was an avid reader, who studied languages, and took a zest to computers in her later life. Besides her husband of 32 years, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Sabrina Henry of Salinas, and grandson Hayden Henry of Salinas. She was the daughter of the late Michael J. Schuler and Mary B. Baumann Schuler and the sister of the late Michael Schuler.
