*Alfreda Maria Glenn passed away March 2, 2007 at the age of 39. She was the only child of Alfred and EllaMae. She is survived by both her parents and her two young daughters, Startela Wright and Monique Hollis .

Lumir Jesse Skubal was born May 25,1925 near Jennings, Kansas. He passed away on February 12, 2007, at the age of 81. Jess taught Industrial and Vocational Arts at SBJUHS in Hollister, until his retirement in 1985. He returned to Kansas where he farmed for 20 years. Survivors include his wife Jean,two sons, Steve of Leoville and Gary of Sweeny, TX, and one daughter, Sharon Pittman of Novato,CA

Lena S. Brand passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center on February 24th at the age of 96 years, after a short period of failing health. A native of San Juan Bautista, and educated in Hollister Schools, Lena spent most of her time between San Juan Bautista and Hollister. A homemaker most of her adult life, Lena had worked for the Hollister Cannery for a period of 15 years. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States; fishing; and the out-of-doors. Lena was preceded in death by her late husband Charles L. Brand, daughter Anna Murphy, and brother Ernest Vanetti. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Barbara Brand of Nevada; and a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Lucy Vanetti of Oakhurst, CA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Maria de Lourdes V. Balderas entered into rest Thursday, March 1, 2007, in San Jose, CA, at the age of 49. She was the beloved wife of Rogelio Balderas, loving mother of David and Gabriela, and cherished daughter of Josefina Perez.

Mary C. Mendonca, age 94 of San Martin, went to be with her heavenly Father on February 22, 2007. Mary was born in Italy and moved to San Martin at the age of 6. Mary married Arnold Mendonca in 1948 and had a son, Arnold Jr., in 1952. Mary lived the majority of her life in San Martin, CA, before moving to Twin Falls, ID, in 2000, to be with her son and his family. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and loved to travel. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lena S. Brand passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Southside at the age of 96 yrs. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Brand.

Passed away in Turlock. He was a former resident of Aromas and was the last 10 years in Delhi, CA. Arrangements for private cremation with private inurnment.

Takeshi Shiba, was born in Salinas, CA. Mr. Shiba is survived by his wife, Nori Shiba of San Martin; daughters Vicki Shiba of Mill Valley and Adrienne Miyakusu of Campbell; son Larry Shiba of San Martin; and two grandchildren, Laurel Shiba and Justin Miyakusu.

Myke Lerma passed away February 25, 2007. A memorial service will be held in his honor 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St., Gilroy.
