Dorothy Hale Simons, 89, passed away January 20, 2007 in Gilroy, CA. She is survived by her children, Gloria and Gene Hansen of Sioux Falls, SD and Barbara and Stu Rader of Gilroy, CA; grandchildren, Denise Kramer, Denee Reinwald, Lornell Hansen, Lonnie Hansen, Jeff Rader, and Bobbi Silveira; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Lucy M. Borovich passed away in Hollister at the age of 97. A native of Hollister having lived here most all of her life. As per her request a private funeral service and funeral Mass were offered Wednesday, January 24th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Ronald A. Filice, a long-time Gilroy resident, passed away on January 19, 2007. He was born December 19, 1941 to Louis and LeeNora Filice in San Jose, CA.
Maria Medina passed away on January 16, 2007. She was the wife of the late Jose S. Medina. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gloria and Tomas Bustamante, Isabel and Frank Yepiz, Alfredo Medina, Stella and Jose Hernandez, Mary Martinez, Rachel and Louis Garcia, Oscar Medina and Irene Greer, Troylynn Echevarria, and K. C. Adams, 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, brothers; Pablo, Isidoro, Pancho, Carmelo and Javier Perez, sister Bertha Calderon and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Randy McNown, long-time resident of Hollister, graduate of Hollister High School, who also served four years in the U.S.Navy and five years in the National Guard, recently died in Isabella,Missouri. Randy was known in Hollister as an avid fisherman. He had moved to Isabella less than two years ago, with his childhood friend, Ron Hill, to pursue more fishing and to start a new life. While helping his neighbor, Randy was shot and killed when a man with a gun broke into his home.
On Thursday Morning, January 11, 2007; Gloria Aguilar passed away with her family right by her side. She was born in Texas to Jose & Julia Reveles. Gloria has been a California resident for 46 years where she worked at Gilroy Foods for 35 years. Gloria has left her spirit in all of us, especially her husband Ray Aguilar and his family, daughters Sandra & April, sons Ray Jr and Jaime Aguilar and her one and only grandson, David Pereyra Jr. She was a loving grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Gloria also leaves behind her beloved sister Delia Centeno, her brothers; Javier Delgado, Felix & Armando Reveles, Cheno & Art Briseno and sister Anita Briseno and families. Also the following that have preceded the deceased in death: Julia Delgado, Joe "Pelon" Fausto, and Richard Aguilar. All will be missed in will be kept in our hearts.
