A 12-day layoff didn’t seem to effect the Gilroy High girls varsity basketball team.
The Mustangs picked up right where they left off, recording their third straight victory in a 56-37 decision over Madera in the first round of the Seaside Sweet 16 on Monday.
Michelle Sosa, who is averaging nearly 13 points per game through seven games this season, posted a team-high 15 points Monday. Ashlee Williams and Ashley Lambert each contributed 12 points for the Mustangs.
Five of the Mustangs’ six wins so far this season have been double-digit triumphs of 14-points or more.
GHS (6-1) continues tourney play tonight taking on Livermore High School at 8 p.m.
