Wolfe Construction forces extra innings in 11-9 loss
GILROY – The Good Fellas saw a 9-2 lead slip away before rebounding to defeat D.A. Wolfe Construction 11-9 in nine innings in a key Men’s C League softball game at Christmas Hill Park.
Gabe Duenas singled home Ruben Perez in the fifth inning to give Good Fellas a 9-2 lead in the batttle between two 2-0 clubs. D.A. Wolfe Construction responded with three markers in the sixth and a grand slam from Benny Sanchez in the seventh to force extra innings.
Ray Rojas opened the Fellas ninth with a single, scoring on a one-out Ralphie Martinez single. Joe Ojeda completed the scoring with an RBI-single.
Marco Lopez came off the bench to go 3-for-3 for the losers.
Robert Silvia cracked a two-run home run and Jeff Heck went 4-for-5 as Obata Farms moved to 2-1 with an 18-10 victory over Carreiro’s Plastering.
Jason Livingston added three extra-base hits for Obata Farms. Rick Trujullo went 4-for-4, Brent Boyd 3-for-3 for Carreiro’s.
Mike Gonzalez Jr. went 3-for-3 as the VFW Vets slipped by Dee’z Nutz 5-4. Sean Subia and Willie Gamboa Sr. each singled and doubled for Dee’z Nutz.
RMC assumed first place in the Men’s D League Friday at Las Animas Park after a 17-5 nod over Fritter-Schulz Physical Therapy-Humboldt Brewing.
Larry Montez Sr. hit a run-scoring triple as RMC pushed across eight runs in the sixth inning. Anthony Montez homered, tripled and doubled for the 2-0 Engineers. Casey Boyd singled and doubled, Jim Divitorio scored two runs for the losers.
Trevino Brothers Construction (1-2) jumped to a 10-3 lead and held on to defeat Team HJ-FX 12-6.
Danny Crowe went 3-for-4 and Rudy Rodriguez scored three runs for Trevino Brothers Construction. Mike Patterson homered in a 4-for-4 night for 2-1 Team HJ-FX.
Paul Musquez went 5-for-5 and Manuel Gonzalez homered to spark Family Affair past Ellite Barbers and Hair Stylist 19-11. Brian Pelaiz homered, doubled and added two singles to the Ellite Barbers offense.
