Gordon Castro passed away peacefully on May 13, 2011, in San Jose with his wife and kids by his side.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; his children Cora Bell (Ricky) from Georgia, Krista Hanson (Jeff) of Hollister, Kevin Castro (Stephanie) of Hollister, and step-son Will Howsmon of Gilroy; mother Loa Castro; grandchildren Brittany Hanes (Adam), Rick and Haley Bell, Stephen, Tyler, and Karli Hanson, Keegan Castro, great-grandson Rhett Hanes, and God-son and nephew Daniel Alvarez; brothers Dennis and Rick Castro and sister Patty Alvarez. He is also survived by an aunt, an uncle, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Tommy Castro. He dedicated 27 years working for the City of San Jose. He enjoyed dirt bike riding, wine tasting, going to the coast and spending time with family and friends.
He was a wonderful person who loved to make everyone laugh.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 19th, 2011, at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St., Gilroy, CA 95020.
