Haley Peterson of Gilroy, right, and a Wisconsin Badger Camp camper share a close moment this summer.

Haley Peterson, a 2012 graduate of Christopher High School in Gilroy, is one of the primitive counselors at Wisconsin Badger Camp this summer. The camp serves people with developmental disabilities by providing quality outdoor recreational experiences, a news release stated.
Peterson wanted to work as a counselor because Badger Camp is a great cause. So far, the experience has changed her for the better, she said, because being a primitive counselor takes a lot of patience.
‘I have become more patient and accepting of anything that happens,’ she said. ‘It’s not in my control so I have to go with the flow. You have to be able to enjoy the little things.’ Peterson is currently studying psychology in college. For more information about Wisconsin Badger Camp, call (608) 348-9689 or go to badgercamp.org.
