Gilroy – Got a burning question to throw at any of the six school board candidates?

Members of the public are invited to participate in a live, televised question-and-answer candidate’s forum, hosted by The Gilroy Dispatch and Community Media Access Partnership (CMAP) television Thursday night.

A small audience will be allowed into the CMAP studio, located on the Gavilan College campus, on a first-come, first-serve basis before the candidate forum begins at 7pm.

Audience members may ask questions of the six Gilroy Unified School District Board of Trustees candidates in the last half hour of the 90-minute forum.

Gilroy voters also may view the forum at home on CMAP’s ED-TV, Charter Cable Channel 19, and call in with questions during the final half hour. The number is 846-4984.

In the first hour of the forum, the candidates for three open school board seats will answer questions from The Dispatch staff and editorial board.

Three general questions will be asked of all the candidates, followed by more targeted questions for each candidate, who will be given one minute to respond.

Susan Patereau, a community activist, will moderate.

The forum will be aired numerous times before Nov. 2, both on Channel 19 and Gilroy public access Channel 20.

The CMAP studios are on the east side of the campus, between the Child Development Center and the library, in room L-135.

For more information, or for call-in questions: 846-4983.
