GILROY – Handmade Healthcare won two playoff games Wednesday at Las Animas Park to claim the second-half Women’s B League championship.

Handmade, Don’s Vending and Williams Dental Lab each went through the second half of the season at 4-2, forcing the playoff games. Handmade opened the twinbill with a 19-14 win over Don’s Vending, then scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to top Williams Dental 15-12.

Handmade will open the best 2-of-3 Championship Series against Williams, the first-half titlist, at 8:50 p.m. on Monday Aug. 16 at Christmas Hill Park.

Becky Sanchez hit a triple and two singles to ignite the Handmade offense against Don’s Vending. Jolene Carrasco dominated the Don’s offense with a 5-for-5 effort.

Yvonne Gaspar doubled to open a four-run seventh for Handmade against Williams. D. J. Simpson gave Handmade a 13-11 lead with a two-run single. Tracy Jimenez and Lisa Sanchez followed with RBI-singles.

Becky Sanchez went 4-for-4 for the winners. Maureen Hughes crushed a two-run home run and three singles for Williams.

Krazy Koyote defeated Campbell’s Towing 10-9 Wednesday to win the second-half Men’s CCC pennant. Krazy opens the Championship Series Monday at 7:40 p.m. at Christmas Hill against Countryside Daycare Center. Campbell’s takes on the Titans Tuesday at 6:30 at Las Animas in Men’s E play.

Krazy Koyote rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to erase an 8-6 Campbell’s lead. Daniel Garcia and Carlos Garcia fashioned RBI-singles to pull the Koyote even. Sean Segura followed with a sacrifice fly. Maciel Urinda went 3-for-3 for the winners. Brandon Straw played three Campbell’s runs with a home run and three singles.

Mike Smith went 3-for-4 to lead Obata Farms past the Playaz 10-7 in the playoff game Wednesday at Christmas Hill for the second-half Men’s C title. Obata will meet the Good Fellas at 6:30 Monday at Las Animas, The Playaz will compete in the CC playoffs opening Monday at 6:30 at Christmas Hill against the Dirty Dozen.

Josh Torres hit a two-run single in the fifth as Obata Farms built a 10-2 lead. George Salgado Jr. homered for the Playaz and Sammy DeLeon went 3-for-3.

Chicks N’ Sticks completed a 12-0 Co-Rec League campaign with an 18-6 nod over Mitsubishi Motors Monday at Las Animas.

Dave Perez went 3-for-3 and scored four Sticks runs.

Covenant qualified for a playoff for the Co-Rec second-place award with a 5-4 squeaker over Team Hair FX. Covenant and Dicar will play Tuesday at 8:50 at Las Animas.

Brian Moreno hit a home run, double and single for the Builders. Jerry Johnston homered for Team Hair FX.

Cheryl Kern and Danny Benz each went 3-for-4 to lead Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas past Rush Order Inc. 8-4. Danny Pequeno homered for Rush Order.
