Heinzen Manufacturing topped ConAgra 13-4 Thursday to reach 2-0 in second-half Men’s EE League softball play at Christmas Hill Park.

Bobby Guerrero went 4-for-4 and Mark Logan lined a triple and two singles to pace the Heinzen offense. Dave Clark offered a double and two singles, Rudi Groppe two triples for the winners. Sat Regalado homered and singled for ConAgra.

VFW Bingo joined Heinzen in first place by defeating the Assassins 8-2.

Bingo erased a 1-0 deficit with a seven-run third stanza. Cres Martinez hit two singles and Gary Tognetti stroked a two-run double in the Bingo rally. George Palacios went 2-for-3 for the Assassins.

Borrachos powered to a 16-7 win over Team Beefy behind a 4-for-4 showing by Mark Cisneros.

Mario Uribe added three hits and scored three runs for the Borrachos. Rene Sanchez and Abraham Hernandez each collected a double and two singles for the winners. Nate Mah and Bubba Castaneda each provided a two-run double and a single for Team Beefy.

Joel Gaeta’s two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth lifted Pacific Coast Bail Bonds (2-0) past Team Hair FX 12-11 Thursday in Men’s E action at Las Animas Park.

Ryan Boyd went 4-for-4 and Jorge Landeros tripled and singled for Pacific Coast. Dennis Subia went 4-for-4 and Gilbert Ramirez and Skip Bloom stroked three hits apiece for Team Hair FX.

Westside Grill (1-o) earned a 19-8 victory over the Bomb Squad. Rudy Tovar went 4-for-4 and Sean Johnson and Rick Gonzalez each drove in three Westside runs. Cesar Vasquez homered and Ryan Bell and Fabian Guzman each mustered four hits for the Bomb Squad.

The South Valley Community Church Sons of Thunder pushed across seven runs in the fifth inning to upset New Hope Community Church 12-9.

John Holder keyed the Sons of Thunder rally with a two-run single. Steve Conroy went 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and Rob Hoffmann doubled and singled for the winners. Casey Adams went 2-for-3 and Matt Elam lofted two triples for New Hope.

Wednesday, May 28

The Players rallied past Harvey’s Body Shop 8-5 Wednesday to take sole possession of first place in the Men’s CC League at Christmas Hill Park.

The Players, following a first-half title in the DD League, surprised Harvey’s with a seven-run explosion in the sixth inning to erase a 5-1 deficit.

Frank Duran powered a two-run triple, Leon Lampson an RBI-double in the Players comeback. Gary Diaz went 2-for-3 and scored twice as the Players (1-0) fashioned a 14-12 edge in hits. Greg Lugo went 3-for-3 and scored three Harvey’s Body Shop hits. Gilbert Cano went 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly.

The Platinum Roofing Slammers trimmed Blackout Window Tinting 23-19 to leave both clubs at 1-1.

Fausto Padilla sparked the Slammer offense with a 5-for-5 showing, scoring five runs. Joaquin Chacon drove in three runs for the winners. Jason Corral went 4-for-4 with four RBI. Anthony Corral contributed four RBI with two singles and a triple.

Draeger Construction topped the Mean Girlz 12-4 to improve to 2-0 in second-half Women’s League play Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

Angelica Garcia began the Draeger assault with a three-run double in the first inning. Liz Talavera poked a three-run triple in the seventh for the winners. Brea Vasquez went 3-for-3 for Draeger Construction. Carissa Kozacek went 4-for-4 for the Mean Girlz (1-1).

Chrissy Ivory and Stacy Schaffer each drilled three hits to propel Ms. BeHaving past Garza Sisters & Friends 14-6.

Julie Wheeler and Linda Figone each collected two hits and scored three Ms. BeHaving runs. Kia Bravo went 3-for-3, Dee Dee Del Valle 2-for-3 for Garza Sisters & Friends.

Kay’s Kids Daycare-RSW Racing defeated T&H Pools 13-2 behind 4-for-4 efforts from Stephanie Johnston and Marie Lucio.

Kiely Sheppard drove in three Kay’s-RSW runs. Aly Gonzalez went 3-for-5 for T&H Pools.
