The Gilroy Historical Society honored 10 buildings during its annual Architectural Awards ceremony. These edifices exemplify Gilroy’s best in categories spanning interior restoration and preservation, landscaping, facade improvements and ongoing maintenance to the exterior of a building.
Historic Commercial Building Award for interior restoration and preservation: Milias Restaurant,  7397 Monterey St., Adam Sanchez and Ann Zyburra;
Historic House Award for continuing maintenance of the interior and exterior and landscaping: Willey House, 140 Fifth St., City of Gilroy;
Exterior restoration and painting: Salvation Army Church, 200 Fifth St., Captain Robert Viquez and Captain Melissa Viquez;
Continuing maintenance of the exterior: Mayor John Browne House and Cottages, 7370 Railroad St., Angelo Benassi;
Facade improvements: Rossi’s Drive Train, 7860 Monterey St., Paul Rossi;
Interior and exterior improvements, painting and landscaping: Arts Alliance Building, 7341 Monterey St., Kevin Heath;
Interior and exterior improvements: Temporary Library Building, 7652 Monterey St., Gary Walton;
Exterior restoration and painting: 7297 Church St., Richard and Jake Navarette-Villalba;
Continuing maintenance of the exterior and landscaping: 7427 Rosanna St., Dennis Lalor;
Continuing maintenance of the exterior and landscaping: 7463 Rosanna St., Christopher M. Raby.
