Hoops: Nine locals win youth free-throw titles

Nine local youth basketball players were crowned champions in the Gilroy Knights of Columbus free-throw contest Saturday at St. Mary School in Gilroy.
The winners were Jeremiah Dolmo and Katherina Javier in the 10-year-old age group, Francisco Meza and Riley Tomasitti in the 11-year-old age group, Brandon Bumanlay and Anastasia Boyd in the 12-year-old age group, Maddy Cox in the 13-year-old girl group, and Ryan Reyes-Ortiz and Angel Harper in the 14-year-old group.
The champions advanced to a regional contest at Saint Simon Parish School in Los Altos on Feb. 16. The state contest is set for March in Sanger.
