Jack Tardieu’s driving layup just before the final buzzer lifted Palma’s boys basketball team to a 56-54 victory at Christopher on Monday night.
Wyatt Rocheleau had 18 points and Andrew Foster scored 13 for Christopher, which fell to 1-2 in the Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division.
“Our guys, they played their hearts out,” Christopher coach Kaden Bahner said. “They did such a great job. It was a heartbreaker. I’ve never been so proud of them.”
Dillon Day scored eight points for Christopher, which got six points from Brennan Wilson and five points from Shane Suttles.
Monte Vista Christian 77, Gilroy 59 – Chris Chang and David Gonzalez scored 13 points each, but Gilroy lost at MVC.
