Tommy Cox had 18 points and David Gonzalez scored 12, but Gilroy High’s boys basketball team suffered a 67-64 home loss to Monte Vista Christian on Wednesday night.
The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Mustangs, who dropped to 9-13 overall and 6-4 in the Monterey Bay League Pacific Division.
Gilroy trailed by 22 points in the second quarter before cutting the deficit to one in the second half.
Palma 81, Christopher 69 – Shane Suttles scored a game-high 24 points, but the Cougars lost on the road.
Andrew Foster scored 19 points for Christopher, which got 16 points from Evan Shapiro and eight points from Wyatt Rocheleau.
Oakwood 49, Anzar 33 – Justin Mortensen had 17 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Oakwood (19-4) rolled to the win.
Jonathan Angulo had 14 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists for Oakwood, which led 18-1 in the first quarter.
