Monterey as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Howard Gregg Gofstein, 48, of Gilroy, died June 8, 2004, in Monterey as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Gofstein was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 13, 1955, to Arthur and Roslyn Gofstein. He was raised in Pennsylvania, and later the family settled in California. In August of 1975, he married Marcia Maul, and they have two children, Kevin and Stacy.
Mr. Gofstein was a businessman with many ventures including a Togo’s Eatery, skateboard shop, vending businesses, and at present owns First Street Coffee Exchange in Gilroy. Howard’s favorite things in life were entertaining his many friends and family, eating out at local restaurants, buying cars, fishing and being on the phone. Howard will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marcia; their son, Kevin of San Diego; their daughter, Stacy of Gilroy; his mother, Roslyn, of Gilroy; his brother, Shelley and wife, Violet, of Manteca; his sister, Marla Bazan and husband, Steven, of Gilroy; sister-in-law, Nancy Reyes, and husband, Sergio, of Los Osos; sister-in-law, Donna Kornrumpf, and husband, Tom, of San Jose; several nieces and nephews, and his many dear friends, new and old.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Gofstein.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2004, at Habing Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
