Dear Editor,
I have to agree with Mr, Currier on one point, liberals are a
lot of what is wrong with California. Giving people what they want
and not what they need is rampant in this state. A helping hand has
become an endless giving hand.
Dear Editor,
I have to agree with Mr, Currier on one point, liberals are a lot of what is wrong with California. Giving people what they want and not what they need is rampant in this state. A helping hand has become an endless giving hand.
I think Mr. Currier needs to go back and read the letter that I responded to. The letter started out by pointing to the needs of the shelter and those in it. It ended with those same needs still unmet and a solicitation for donations to meet them. Even though there was money for a television.
I can say that I have never been homeless or starving, but if I ever were I would choose food and clothing over watching the 6 o’clock news. Oops, I mean “connecting” with the real world.
I applaud people like Mr. Currier that give to those less fortunate then ourselves. We all give in our own way. I think his personal attack on Betty McCarn and me was uncalled for. I could list Betty and her family’s contributions to this community going back three generations but similar to you, she donates without fanfare.
Mr. Currier? Impress you? With Ishtar? Notoriously one of the worst movies ever produced. Impressing anyone is not and was not my intention.
You are welcome Mr. Currier. I am so glad to be responsible for you spending a little more time praying. I am happy that your life is so blessed that all you could think to thank God for was not being married to Betty or me. Being the giving soul that you profess to be, couldn’t that time have been better spent praying for those less fortunate rather than wasting God’s time insulting Betty and me.
