Isabel J. Trelut

Native San Franciscan Isabel J. Trelut passed away in her adopted city of Gilroy January 8, 2011.

Husband George and son Jim preceded her in death. She leaves son George (Carol), daughter-in-law Lynda, niece Pat Hegerhorst (Carl), grandchildren Alex, Carrie, George and Amy and great-grands Alexa and Dominic.

Isabel’s 97 years on earth began on Capp Street in San Francisco where she naturally acquired her “tar flat” accent. Her attendance at Immaculate Conception Academy was a source of pride as was the fact that she walked across the Golden Gate Bridge on the day it opened in 1937.

Isabel joined her husband in the establishment of the San Francisco City Employee’s Credit Union in the early 60’s. She retired from there as Loan Officer in 1974.

With a little encouragement, Isabel moved to Gilroy in 1977 to begin the next chapter in her life. Jumping into active retirement, Isabel joined the BIG committee, Gilroy Senior Center, WIT, Serra Cottage Seniors and Catholic Ladies Aid Society. She reestablished her memberships in YLI, Native Daughters of the Golden West as well as Italian Catholic Federation.

An avid Giants and Niner fan, Isabel knew the score till the very end.

The family thanks the staff at Gilroy Healthcare and will always appreciate the friendship Isabel shared with Tom and Bruna Goold.

Donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Family Center or charity of choice.

Services have been held.
