Jahaziel (Jazz) Levi Casas died peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2005 after battling with testicular cancer for more than a year. He was 20.

He was born in Alice, Texas, Sept. 25, 1984 to Abelardo G. Casas and Rebecca M. Stansell-Garcia.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Abelardo G. (Maria Elena) Casas of Gilroy; mother, Rebecca M. Stansell-Garcia of Gilroy, paternal grandfather, Jose (Olga) Casas of San Diego; half brothers Daniel (Maria del Jesus) Casas, and David (Melissa) Casas, both of Hollister; half sister, (Bonita) Melody (Harold) Ketchum of Antioch; brother, Samuel T. Casas of San Diego; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

The sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ made available the resurrection hope as stated in John 5:28, 29; and as a baptized Witness of Jehovah God Jahaziel he had the strong faith in this resurrection hope which sustained him to the end.

A memorial talk will be held at 11am Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 8530 Forest St., Gilroy.
