It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, grandfather, brother and friend, James Elvin Goin, age 78 and resident of Hollister, CA, on December 9th, 2009 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister.
Jim was born on February 3, 1931 in Honey Grove, TX and served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 until 1951.
He will be missed and forever loved by his children Sheryl Ann Goin of Hollister, Billy Reid Goin and his wife Tamra of Oakley and his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Sean Joseph and Cheyenne Rose Goin of Hollister and Robert James and William Cantrell Goin of Oakley. He was preceded in passing by his brother Kenneth Neil Goin of San Jose and is survived by his sister Joyce Ann Clayton of Garland, TX and brother Billy Joe Goin of San Jose.
Those who knew him will remember his warm, caring spirit, quiet, giving nature, unique sense of humor and that his heart was truly in Texas. He left as gently as he lived…
