Gilroy – Jennie’s Crew-Dutchman’s Pizza moved into a tie for first place in the Co-Rec Winter B League play Sunday with a 17-7 victory over Cary O’Neal Roofing-California Silk Screening at Las Animas Park.

Gil Barry lashed two doubles and two singles as Jennie’s Crew tied the Roofers-Screeners at 3-1. Mike Sandoval added a single, double and triple, scoring four runs for Jennie’s. Anthony Corral singled and doubled for the losers.

Lights Out slipped into fourth place at 2-3 with an 11-5 upset of Dequin’s Auto Body.

Rosindo Acevedo drilled a home run, triple and single to spark the Lights Out offense. Andrea Castaneda stroked three singles and a triple for the winners. Junior Gutierrez collected a single, double and triple for Dequin’s Auto Body. Rebecca Dayton and Matt Hernandez each managed three hits for the losers.

Each league in the Gilroy Community Services Program features an eight-game season. The top four teams in each league participate in the post-season Playoff Night.

Co-Rec C

A to Z held on to a one-game lead in the Co-Rec Winter C League play Sunday with a 24-11 win over Jose Serrano Trucking.

Joel Garcia went 4-for-4 and Kenny Hopf and Art Naranjo cracked home runs to pace the 5-1 A to Z attack. Eddie Flores paced the 4-2 Truckers with three hits.

The Big Kahunas reached 4-2 with a 17-2 verdict over Loco’s Only.

Danny Benz scored five runs, Rudi Groppe poked two doubles and two singles, Mark Logan a double and two triples for the Kahunas. Frank Navarrete went 3-for-4 and scored one Loco’s Only run.

Frame Your Family in Eyewear became the third team in second place at 4-2 with a forfeit win over Cosa Nostra.

Men’s CC

Feather Haven Mill (4-1) remained in second place in the Men’s Winter CC League competition Friday at Christmas Hill Park with a 19-7 decision over Buzz N By U.

John DeCarlo Sr. and Phillip Alosi paced the Feather Haven Mill offense with four hits apiece. Mike Montenegro tripled and homered for Buzz N By U.

Murderer’s Row-Manolow’s Glove Repair topped Extreme Air 5-4. Brady Morales stroked a sacrifice fly in the Row sixth frame for a 5-3 lead. Alex Soto went 3-for-3 for the winners. Mark Matthews went 3-for-4 for Extreme Air.

Las Animas Sweepers moved to 4-2 with a 20-9 win over Johnson Lumber. Kevin Orosco hit two homers and two singles, Spencer Rice a triple and two singles for the Sweepers. Gabe Hernandez drove in five Johnson Lumber runs with a home run and two singles. E.J. Mendoza went 3-for-4.
