passed away at his new home in Gilroy on Sept. 1.
Joseph S. Di Salvo, “The Nicest Guy in the World,” passed away at his new home in Gilroy on Sept. 1. Born Jan. 1, 1912, in Harvey, LA, Joe was a long time resident and business man on Lincoln Ave. in Willow Glen.
He leaves behind his dearly beloved wife, Frances Lynch Di Salvo; devoted daughters Joanne (Tim) Wiley and Janet Stansbury; cherished granddaughters Tamara Wayland and Erica Stansbury, and grandson Craid Berndt. He also leaves three great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and revered sister, Josephine Pinza. Also dear to him were his nephews, Melvin Di Salvo, Gerald Di Salvo, Kenneth and Richard Basile, Albert Pinza and nice Darlene Campagna along with numerous grand nieces and nephews. His step-son and step-daughter, Tom Lynch of Salinas and Crystal (Rod) Mickler and an especially loved step-granddaughter, Dana (Jim) Baker-Reimer and her two children all from Gilroy.
Joe, a veteran of World War Two, was a long time member of the American Legion, and Past Exalted Ruler and Life Member of Elks Lodge 522. He made many friends along the way and will be very missed by all.
