June Eckett, of Morgan Hill, died of diabetes April 8, 2004, in San Jose. She was 73.

Born on April 7, 1931, she was known as ”Mom,” ”Grandma” or ”Junebug” to all that knew her.

She retired in June from Santa Clara County.

Some of her greatest joys were reading, knitting and crocheting, playing cribbage, bingo, spoiling her grandchildren, eating chocolate covered cherries, holding her twin kittens, and talking to Caesar, her great Dane, and her squawking yellow Tweetybird.

She will be greatly missed and remembered for her ”special warm and unique love” by all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Steven Eckett; daughter, Robin Julene Eckett; grandsons, Calvin Calhoun, Xavier Bonton, Cameron Bonton and Napoleon Bonton; former son-in-law Christopher Bonton; and step-grandchildren Daniel Zavala, and Marla and Michael Devos.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill. No further services are planned.
