KBAY Cares … About Gilroy
Gilroy – Two popular morning DJs from soft rock radio station KBAY, 94.5 FM, are coming to downtown Gilroy today to do their show and then lend a hand to a volunteer clean-up effort benefiting the Gilroy Community Youth Center at 7400 Railroad St.
From 5 to 10am, Sam VanZandt and Lissa Kreisler will broadcast live for an event dubbed “KBAY Cares … About Gilroy” from in front of Sue’s Coffee Roasting at the corner of Monterey Road and Fifth Street. All are welcome to come down and meet the co-hosts. Once done, they’ll join a team of nearly 100 volunteers working from 9am to 2pm in repainting and sprucing up the youth center, which VanZandt said hasn’t yet gotten the kind of revival downtown Gilroy streets have benefited from in the last year.
The station is still looking for more helping hands and will provide T-shirts, sunscreen, refreshments and lunch to all volunteers.
