Five seventh-inning singles in a row leads to 13-9 comeback

GILROY – Five consecutive one-out singles in the top of the seventh inning carried Krazy Koyote past the Extreme Air Poor Boys 13-9 in the Men’s CCC League second-half opener for both clubs at Las Animas Park.

Art Del Valle and Brandon Orlando lined RBI-singles and Dave Agaliotis hit a sacrifice fly as the Poor Boys snapped a 6-6 tie in the fourth inning.

After two scoreless frames, Benny Garcia started the Krazy Koyote comeback with a one-out single in the seventh. Ray Garcia’s two-run single pushed Krazy Koyote to an 11-9 lead.

Jimmy Hernandez, Joey Garcia and Ray Garcia each managed three hits for the winners. Del Valle and Orlando finished with three hits apiece.

John DeCarlo Jr. and Kris Ferguson hit home runs in the first inning as Countryside Daycare Center outlasted the Desperados 22-15.

DeCarlo finished with four hits and four RBI. Dave DeCarlo went 4-for-4 for the winners, John DeCarlo Sr. 3-for-3. Louie Aguayo’s two-run single helped Countryside to eight runs in the sixth inning to erase a 15-14 deficit.

Gerald Buckman homered and Jim Stewart, Paul Fierro and Steve Garrido came up with three hits each for the Desperados.

Eddie Gomez crunched a run-scoring triple with one out in the eighth inning to give Malibu Heating and Air Conditioning a 3-2 nod over Carreiro’s Plastering in the Men’s CC opener at Christmas Hill Park.

Robert Martinez went 2-for-2 for Malibu, Ryan Boyd 4-for-4 and Brent Boyd 3-for-4 for the Plasterers.

Eric Contreras and Ricky Salinas went 3-for-4 as the Dirty Dozen stopped South County Rockery and Building Materials 12-6.

Daniel Salinas singled and scored to ignite a six-run fourth as the Dirty Dozen, the first-half CCC champion, erased a 2-1 deficit. Cesar Lopez Jr. went 3-for-2 and scored twice for the Rockery, with Eric Lopez 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly.

Rich Furtado cracked two base hits and scored four runs to propel No Soup 4 You past the Las Animas Sweepers 14-11.

Kurt Gitmed added three hits and scored three runs for the Soup. Brian Cortez lashed three doubles, Emiliano Arde three singles for Las Animas Sweepers.
