The Lady Sparks started the new year off with a 38-7 victory over Hollister Sunday. Lauren Rhodes and Carmen Pichardo each scored eight points. Despite coming off a 3-week break with no practice, the Lady Sparks played impressive defense to limit Hollister to seven.
Titans 30, West San Jose 20
Behind the offensive firepower of Alana Osaki and Lindsey Foster, the Titans won their fourth straight game. Emily and Kristen Costa paced the team on defense.
Division I Boys
Mustangs 40, Coyote Creek 26
Despite losing 6-foot-1 big man Dominic Leach early in the first quarter to an ankle sprain, the Mustangs executed well with a smaller lineup and improved their recored to 4-0. The Mustangs played solid team defense, rebounded well and found open players. Leading the charge for the Mustangs was Nathan Seifert (16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals), Connor Ross (6 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, 3 rebounds), Cameron Yawary (9 points, 6 steals) and Michael Aldridge (4 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals). The Mustangs play Los Gatos next.
