The Lady Titans, made up of underclassmen at Gilroy High, won

basketball players, won the Bay Area Championships held June 7-8 by
beating three teams in the span of two days to end the season on a
high note.
Gilroy’s Lady Titans club team, made up of all Gilroy High basketball players, won the Bay Area Championships held June 7-8 by beating three teams in the span of two days to end the season on a high note.

During the first round, the Titans got past Team Hoop Mana out of San Francisco, 42-40.

Alana Osaki scored 10 points and point guard Ashley Lambert had eight while handling a tremendous amount of pressure with composure, according to coach Susan Shapiro.

In the second game, the Titans defeated the San Jose Scholars of Notre Dame 38-33. Sovi Nou led the team with 12 points, including four clutch free-throws to seal the victory.

In the championship game, the Titans topped the Atherton Cardinals, 49-33, through an impressive defensive performance. Nou led the team again with 12 points while Osaki scored 10 and came through with several huge rebounds.
