GILROY – Neil Pfeffer went 2-for-4 and scored three runs Monday as the Las Animas Sweepers outlasted Malibu Heating and Air Conditioning 16-7 in a key Men’s CC League game at Christmas Hill Park.
The Sweeper victory left all six teams in the league at 1-1. Eddie Gomez went 3-for-4 for Malibu.
Nick Vantero singled with two out in the top of the seventh inning and scored on two errors to lift South County Rockery and Building Materials by No Soup 4 You 8-7.
Cesar Lopez Jr. went 3-for-4 and scored two Rockery runs. Randy Newton lashed a triple and two singles for the Soup.
Rick Trujillo went 5-for-5 with a sacrifice fly as the eight-man Carriero’s Plastering trimmed Dirty Dozen 15-11.
Jacob Garcia provided four hits and scored three runs for Carreiro’s.
Ruben Lujan went 3-for-3, Joel Garcia 3-for-4 for the Dirty Dozen, the first-half Men’s CCC League champion.
Campbell’s Towing rallied past Morgan Hill Bible Church 14-11 Monday to move to 2-0 atop the Men’s CCC League standings at Las Animas Park.
Roger McCauley opened a three-run sixth inning as Campbell’s snapped an 11-11 tie. Lance Hedrick anchored the Campbell’s attack with a 4-for-4 effort.
Jesse Rawlins and Rayce Zamarippa hit consecutive triples in the Campbell’s first frame. Mike Peternel and Mark Rausser each went 4-for-4 for Morgan Hill Bible Church.
K. C. Adams powered a two-run home run and Eddie Vargas went 4-for-4 as 2-0 Krazy Koyote defeated Countryside Daycare Center 12-4.
Joey Garcia, Ray Garcia and Benny Garcia each provided three hits to the Koyote offense. Albert Alosi and Dave DeCarlo each went 2-for-3 for Countryside.
The Desperados edged RMC Engineering 11-10 when Gerald Buckman tripled and scored on an outfield error in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Phil Clark and Jim Stewart each went 3-for-3 for the winners. Larry Montez Jr. homered and Ruben Huerta went 3-for-3
for RMC, the first-half D League kingpin.
