Laurel Elleen Wells passed away on January 23, 2012 at the age of 92, in Hollister, CA. Laurel was born to Charles Ray Terpening and Estella Mae Benne in Morrowville, KS. She had three sisters and two brothers: Thelma May Sothan, Norma Ardath Frager, Charles Lloyd Terpening, Vance Benne Terpening who predeceased her, and Lillace Carol Tegethoff who lives in Morrowville, KS.
Laurel’s greatest love in life was her family and extended family. She was honored and cherished by them.
Laurel married Louis Carl Wells September 28, 1940, in a double wedding with her sister, Norma and Bill Frager, in Fairbury, Nebraska. Louis passed away on August 5, 1992, in Burlingame, CA. She is survived by her son, Lonnie Everett Wells and his wife, Bonnie Wells, who reside in Hollister, CA. Her four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren are as follows: Jason (Elizabeth) Wells, Allynn, Sydney, Austin and Kelsey Wells of American Fork, UT; Jarred (Stefanie) Wells, Bryant and Cassandra Wells of Helena, MT; Leanna (Duane) Schreck, Dâ Artagnan Wells and Alexis Schreck of Hollister, CA and Kirin (Joshua) Krebs, Lia Hona Krebs of Sandy, UT.
Laurel married Shirley Glenn Reed in Oroville, CA, on September 26, 1998. Shirley predeceased her on February 26, 2009. Her step-son, Ronnie (Linda) Reed and their daughter, Michelle, reside in Indio, CA.
Her funeral will be held on January 28, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 10:00 A.M. Her interment will follow a graveside memorial service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oroville, CA on February 1, 2012, at 10:00 A.M.
