Link’s first-half strike forces tie with Watsonville

WATSONVILLE – The Gilroy High girls soccer squad battled to a 1-1 tie Thursday against Watsonville.

Senior Tracy Link – who was also named her team’s most valuable player – netted her second goal of the season to tie the score late in the first half, after Watsonville got on the scoreboard early.

Gilroy (1-2-1) will play host tonight to Monterey at 5:30 p.m. in Mustang Stadium before North County comes to town Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
