Why is it your favorite book?: “I’ve had favorite books during all parts of my life, but the heroine in the story made a lasting impression on me. Up until that point, I had not been exposed to a lot of female heroines. It also has a happy ending.”

How did it change your life?: There are some similarities between myself and the character. My parents were both orphans and Jane Eyre was an orphan. It helped me understand my parents’ thoughts and experiences. Jane Eyre decided to take the high road and could not do what in good consciousness what she saw as wrong. It gave me a moral compass ”

Why did you read the book?: “I first read it in high school for an assignment and later when I was getting my teaching credential.”
