Gilroy, managed by Susan Shapiro, resumes bracket play today at
5:30 p.m. at Dove Hill Park in San Jose.
Gianna Vanni struck out 13 and walked just one as the Gilroy Little League Minors All-Stars secured a rousing 16-0 win over Evergreen in the first round of the 9-and-10 year olds tournament Saturday in San Jose.

Erika Cates, Kalena Paredes, Jaimie Lam, Mia Garnica and Victoria Pacheco shared in the offensive onslaught for the heavy-hitting Gilroy team. Natalie Urenda led a solid defensive stand as well, making some clutch grabs at second base to foil an Evergreen late-game charge.
