truck overturned on Uvas Road Sunday night. The man whose name has
been withheld until family are notified, was airlifted to Santa
Clara Valley Medical Center. According to police, he was heading
northbound just south of Bailey Road wh
en he hit a ditch causing the vehicle to flip.

Gilroy – A 26-year-old San Jose man suffered major injuries after his truck overturned on Uvas Road Sunday night. The man whose name has been withheld until family are notified, was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. According to police, he was heading northbound just south of Bailey Road when he hit a ditch causing the vehicle to flip.
The crash is under investigation, however, police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
Dispute turns violent
Gilroy – A roommate dispute turned violent Saturday night when a 26-year-old Gilroy man was slashed several times at his apartment after he and his roommate apparently had a fight, police said.
The man’s 40-year-old roommate fled on foot and is described as a 5-foot, 7-inch, 170-lb, Hispanic male.
The victim was slashed a few times on his abdomen around 7:45pm at 8121 Forest St., police said.
He sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital after firefighters and paramedics attended to his wounds on scene.
Spaghetti dinner
Gilroy – The Gilroy High School Choir will be holding their annual Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 8pm Wednesday, at the Brownell Middle School gym. Cost is $5 for adults, $4 for children. Take-out will be available.
All proceeds benefit the award-winning Gilroy High School Choirs.
