Gilroy – Tickets are now on sale for the St. Mary School 18th Annual Blue and White Auction. This year’s auction will take place at the beautiful San Juan Oaks Golf Club, 3825 Union Road in Hollister, on Saturday, April 16th.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” the event theme, promises a delightful fare for all guests.

Tickets are $95 per person with tables for eight or 10 available.

Raffle benefits softball program

Gilroy – Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) and Sports, a non-profit girl’s softball organization, will be selling raffle tickets outside of Nob Hill, 777 First St. in Gilroy, every Friday through Monday in April. The sale will be held from 3 to 7pm on Fridays, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays, 1 to 5pm on Sundays and 3 to 7pm on Mondays.

The tickets cost $2 each or $5 for 3. The prizes are a shopping spree at Nob Hill in the amounts of $150, $250 and $500.

Proceeds will help pay for the cost of the Gilroy Cardinals’ softball games, including equipment and transportation. The drawing will be held on May 2. Participants need not be present to win.

G.P.A. is a non-profit organization that helps girl’s keep their grades up and play sports. Players are required to keep a grade point average of at least 2.5. Rather than be kicked off the team if grades slip, girls are encouraged to improve with a tutor that the organization provides.

Flower lovers meet Wednesday

Morgan Hill – Morgan Hill flower lovers’ Club, including Gilroy and San Martin, will hold it monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at noon in the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

The Club’s 80th anniversary will be celebrated with a tea luncheon. Fresh flowers will be flown in from Hawaii by Tupou Braz for her flower demonstration. Polynesian dancing will follow.

YMCA offers teen dance classes

Morgan Hill – Mt. Madonna YMCA is offering dance class for teens, ages 10-14, and beginning in two separate sessions on Thursday, April 7 through April 28 and May 5 through May 26 from 5:30 to 6:25pm at 17666 Crest Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Students will learn some of the hottest dances in the Bay Area such as Salsa, Merengue, hip-hop and Jazz. Instructor Monica Reyes is a lifelong dancer who has performed throughout the Bay Area.

The fee is $48 for basic members or $28 for facility members of the YMCA plus a $25 program membership. Parental permission is required.
