USA Sport Connection crew finishes up first season full of team,
individual awards
MOUNTAIN VIEW – Local gymnasts from USA Sport Connection finished their first year of NCWGA competitive gymnastics with high honors at Twister’s Caribbean Carnivale on Saturday in Mountain View.

The girls, pulling together their top three scores in each event, were awarded the 2nd place team award out of the five Level 4 teams participating in the meet (a total of 42 girls).

Individual scores continued to climb with six topping the 9.0 range – an impressive accomplishment for first-year competitive gymnasts. These achievers brought home numerous medals, including three 1st places, four 2nd places, and five 3rd places.

LEVEL 4 (age 12+)

Jessica Frey placed 1st on the balance beam (9.0), 2nd on the vault (9.15), 4th on the floor exercise (8.05), and 8th on the uneven bars. Her efforts achieved a 3rd place All Around (33.35) award.

Alysia Brown placed 3rd on the balance beam (8.6), 6th on the uneven bars, 6th on the floor exercise, and 8th on the vault (8.675).

Jessica Meade placed 1st on the floor exercise (8.5), 5th on the vault (8.95), 7th on the uneven bars, and 8th on the balance beam.

LEVEL 4 (age 9)

Lise Avilla placed 2nd on the balance beam (9.0), 2nd on the floor exercise (8.5), 3rd on the vault (9.35), and a 6th on the uneven bars. She was awarded 2nd place All Around (33.70) for her achievements.

Keiley Emilio placed 5th on the uneven bars, 7th on the vault (8.45), 8th on the balance beam, and 8th on the floor exercise.

LEVEL 4 (age 8)

Emily Rianda placed 1st on the floor exercise (8.475), 3rd on the vault (9.175), 3rd on the uneven bars, and 8th on the balance beam.

Taylor Lawrence placed 3rd on the floor exercise, 6th on the uneven bars, 6th on the balance beam, and 8th on the vault (8.8).

Jacquelynn Fisher placed 1st on the vault (9.425), 7th on the balance beam, 7th on the floor exercise, and 8th on the uneven bars.
