DEAR EDITOR:

Each year the Gilroy High School Art and Literary Guild puts on a Talent Show as a club fundraiser. The money goes to funding a magazine that is released at the end of the school year and is composed entirely of student’s writings, art and poetry.

The Art and Literary Guild is a non-profit organization that is entirely student run. As the Special Events Coordinator of the Guild I am in charge of running the yearly talent shows along with the help of the entire staff. At each talent show students are given the opportunity to express their talents while providing a night of fun for the community.

At the end of each talent show prizes are given to the winning contestants for first, second and third prize.

In order to obtain these prizes local merchants have so graciously provided me with various items such as gift certificates and merchandise. In writing this article I would like to show my appreciation to these merchants and sincerely thank our local KFC, Jamba Juice, It’s A Grind, Sweet Retreat, Quizno’s, Fast Dragon and Nob Hill. I am entirely grateful for their generosity and with their kindness our talent show was a big hit. I urge the community to support these local merchants as they have in turn so graciously supported the community.
