Gilroy – Rock stars may be in our midst as two Morgan Hill-based bands made it to the 9Lives’ Battle of the Bands competition this Saturday.
Out-shining more than 25 bands during a two-month search, bands Just Chill, The Epidemik and San Jose-based Cadent will compete Saturday for a $500 cash prize, musical equipment and recording time at Studio 222 located in Gilroy.
“We’ve spent the better part of this year watching and hearing some really good bands from all throughout the country,” said 9 Lives co-owner Jorge Briones in a release. “And we felt that we should put on a challenge to find the best local band. We’ve been amazed by the results.”
Six bands competed in the semi-finals with the top three moving along to this Saturday’s competition.
The finals will take place Saturday at 9 Lives, located at 7430 Monterey St., Gilroy. Doors open at 8 p.m.; for ticket information visit www.ninelivesclub.com.
