Magic, Mayhem and Flying Carpet Rides: "Aladdin Jr." Onstage

Hop onto a camel or the nearest flying carpet, and let the Mount Madonna School (MMS) middle school production of Disney’sAladdin Jr. carry you to Agrabah, the City of Enchantment. Join Princess Jasmine as she resists efforts to marry her to a visiting prince, and follow along with the street savvy Aladdin as he tries to stay one step ahead of the Sultan’s guards.
Featuring brassy, bold and campy humor, colorful costumes, artistic sets, familiar songs and expressive characters, this fast-paced story is fun family entertainment!
Matinee performances are planned for December 14 and 15 at 2:00pm, at Mount Madonna’s Hawks’ Nest Theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students under 18. All seats are reserved. Tickets are available at (408) 847-2717.
“Thematically there is some relevance for a middle school student to ‘digest’ and ‘inhabit,’ in this story,” comments MMS Performing Arts Director Sampad Kachuck. “Both Aladdin and Jasmine, the lead characters, learn about the empowerment to make their own choices, and in the end, rather than putting on artificial ‘personality cloaks,’ are encouraged to just be their true self.”
Mount Madonna School’s production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
