Marvin H. Grimsley

Life long Hollister resident Marvin Grimsley passed away at his residence with his family at his side on

Sunday, Sept 7th at the age of 66 years. Marvin was a native of Glenmore, LA who moved with his parents and siblings to San Benito County when he was one year old. He attended Hollister elementary schools, graduated from Hollister High School, and obtained his Associate of Arts Degree from San Benito Junior College. He had served with the California National Guard. As a student at Hollister High he excelled both in basketball and track setting several records. Marvin enjoyed the out of doors, spending time with his family – taking them and their friends fishing and hiking; as well as coaching Little League. He was an avid golfer, belonged to the Bolaldo Park Golf Club, and when he could, spent time in his garden. Marvin spent twenty years working as a buyer for Pacific Scientific and it’s predecessors. Marvin is survived by his spouse Maria, his daughter Laura Molter (Ty) of Fresno; his son Aaron Grimsley (Sheri Silacci) of Hollister; grandchildren Christian and Harrison Molter and Nicole Patterson; his brothers Jim Grimsley (Jean) of PA, David Grimsley (Gloria), and Roger Grimsley (Toni) both of Hollister; numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Ervin “Bud’ and Eldene Grimsley.

Family and friends will gather at Sacred Heart Church 5th & College Streets, Hollister on Saturday, Sept. 13th at 1:45 P.M. to attend a memorial Mass and celebration of Marvin’s life which begins at 2:00 P.M.
