Marvin died peacefully at home after a long battle with emphysema. Marvin was born and raised in Hanford, CA. He graduated Hanford High School in 1951 and from San Jose State in 1955. He then returned home to run the family business, Mirviss’s Dress Shop.
In 1989 Marvin and Lou came to look at Morgan Hill and after seeing all the golf courses, he decided this was home. Marvin was past President of Rotary Club of Hanford and active with Lou in the Morgan Hill Rotary.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife Lou of 31 years; his son Mark, wife Annette of Lake Tahoe; his daughter Laurel, husband Mark, grandson Mathieu Whiteside of Lodeve, France; his son Robert wife Colleen and grandson Zachary of Superior, CO; his stepdaughter Cheryl True, husband Steve of Veteran, WY; his stepson Joe Fray, wife Misty of Visalia and his grandchildren Joey and Breann of Coeur d’Alene, ID; his stepson Brian Fray and his granddaughters Catronia and Madison of Fresno; his brother Leon, sister-in-law Lynn Mirviss of Visalia. Marvin will forever be remembered for his love of family, friends, traveling, his outgoing personality, kindness, witty sense of humor and for his barbeques and golf game.
Our family wishes to thank Dr. George Green, Linda and Donna for twenty years of compassionate medical care. The family would also like to thank all of his friends that gave great comfort and care to Marvin and Lou during Marvin’s final weeks.
“A Celebration of Marvin’s Life” will be held Sunday, May 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at the Community & Cultural Center in Morgan Hill, CA.
