A lucky customer who shopped at a Morgan Hill liquor store just hit the jackpot, winning the Super Lotto Wednesday night totaling $9 million, but by Thursday morning, the customer had not yet come forward.

California Lottery officials announced today that Paul’s Quick Stop at the corner of Main and Hale Avenues sold a winning $9 million Super Lotto ticket with numbers 22, 15, 23, 40 and 42.

The owner of Paul’s Quick Stop, Surinder Singh, learned he had sold the winner this morning after receiving a call from the Lottery district manager in Hayward. Singh said he couldn’t be more ecstatic to have a jackpot made in his store.

“It means a lot,” he said. “People will know we have a winner here.”

Lottery officials say they will put up a banner at Singh’s Morgan Hill store saying “Millionaire made here.”

A married man with four children, Singh owns three liquor stores in the South Bay, but this the first time a winning lottery ticket was sold at one of his stores. For selling the ticket, Singh will receive $45,000 from the California Lottery.

“I can go on vacation with that,” he said. “It means a lot to me.”
