The Gilroy girls golf team defeated visiting Monte Vista Christian 232-236 at Gilroy Golf Course on Thursday.
“We played better today,” GHS coach Eric Kuwada said. “We keep improving each week. Our goal is to improve and have fun.”
Cassidy Daly holed-out a chip-in on the 15th hole for par. Megan Donahoe improved her score from Monday and stuck the ball much better, Kuwada said. Laura Fellows improved her score from Monday by 10 strokes.
With all but two players picking up the game for the first time this season, and many being freshmen sophomores, Kuwada said there has already been dramatic improvements, with plenty of untapped potential.
“I’m like, ‘Wow, what an improvement,’ ” he said. “If these girls stick it out, in three or four years it’ll be great to see.”
