John Alciati

John Alciati, 85 years old, passed away peacefully at his home in Morgan Hill surrounded by his loving family. John was a lifelong resident of Morgan Hill where he farmed prunes, walnuts & grapes. He believed in the tradition of farmers helping each other. John volunteered for the Morgan Hill Police Auxiliary and served 13 loyal years. He also was a member of the Gilroy Elks & the Morgan Hill Full Blooded Italian Club. John enjoyed playing softball, where he was a pitcher, and also enjoyed vacationing in Lake Tahoe. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather & friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Elsie, and his 3 children, Don (Sandy) Alciati, Al (Sharon) Alciati and Rita (Sean) Nyulassy, as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Catherine's Church, in Morgan Hill, on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124 or to a charity of your choice.
