The Orchard Valley Red Devils under-9 boys soccer team, captured the top prize in dramatic fashion at the Copa Classic soccer tournament organized by the Willow Soccer Club in San Jose.

Verizon land line services are down for parts of Morgan Hill. A construction crew cut a fiberoptic cable on the Butterfield Extension project near Watsonville and Monterey Road this morning, according to South Valley Internet.

She is survived by her longtime companion Merle Johnson, her beloved children Stephen (Jane) and Michael (Michele) Nowakowski, adoring grandmother of Dennis Bedolla, Nicole Bedolla, Meghan Kovaleski (Craig) and Marissa Nowakowski, and great-granddaughter Kaitlin Habing; loving sister of Joyce Marks (Bob), Bruno Filice (Pearl) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joyce Elane Culligan was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on March 2nd, 2012 at the age of 79. Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lasca Erdkamp, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Culligan of Gilroy. Loving mother and grandmother to Emily Culligan Chadwick (Beau Sizemore, Chrissy Mulder), Mary Culligan, Courtney and Pete Estrada (Casey and Cody), John and Beth Culligan (Sean and Cara), Liz and Jim Bolton, (J.J., Jillian, and Jaci), Tim and Laurie Culligan, (Ryan and Megan) Clare and Mark Campaigne (Madeline, Drew, Jameson, and Cooper). The Gilroy Police Department responded to an attempted murder at approximately 1:34 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a man with a gun near the area of 985 Monte Bello Drive in Gilroy.
