Leilani Lee Brawley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 15, 2012, at the age of 57. Beloved wife of Eddie Brawley for 39 years. Loving mother of Eddie and Jimmie (Denise) Brawley. Cherished grandmother of Tim, Brandon, Justin, Willie, Tyler, Kevin, Big Tyler, Matt, Melissa and Cesar. Dearest sister of Rick (Annette) and Larry Lovas. Dear Daughter-in-law of John and Pat Brawley.

In the second half of Friday night's game against visiting Monterey Peninsula College, the Gavilan men's basketball team chipped away at an 11-point deficit, sculpting a manageable four-point dilemma with plenty of time to spare. In workman-like fashion, the Rams again pulled themselves to the surface with another four-point climb ahead after the Lobos had stretched their lead back to 10 midway through.

Hollister resident, James Madison Malone III, age 60, passed away December 31, 2011, at Stanford Hospital, Palo Alto. He is survived by his wife Mary (Miguel) Malone, two daughters, Tyler and Blake Malone, San Luis Obispo, CA, stepson Brett Basarich, Hollister, CA, sister Roxanne Easterwood (Chuck) South Jordan, UT, and many nieces and nephews.
