Among a string of arrests last weekend by the sheriff’s office, deputies and a K-9 arrested two men suspected of stealing a spool of copper wire from a Pacific Gas & Electric site in Hollister.

Born in Cushing, OK, Helen attended college at Wichita State College and then Boulder Colorado Business College. She started teaching at the age of 17. She taught school in Kansas for eight years. She then moved to California and taught school in Riverside, and in 1961 she moved to San Jose where she taught school in the San Jose Unified School District. In 1980 she retired to Kansas.
