Gilroy blasted the Alisal Trojans in a Tri-County Athletic
League softball contest Tuesday, winning the game in comfortable
fashion, 17-1.
Ashley Harrington pitched five innings with 11 Strikeouts, while
also hitting a home run for the Mustangs, who improved to 16-5
overall, 4-2 in the TCAL. Alisal dropped to 3-14, 0-6.
Gilroy blasted the Alisal Trojans in a Tri-County Athletic League softball contest Tuesday, winning the game in comfortable fashion, 17-1.

Gilroy’s bats came to life in each slot of the batting order, as Alyssa Castro was 2-for-3, Caitlyn Pierroti was 3-for-4 with a double and Ashley Serrano was 3-for-4 with a triple.

Home run hitters for the Mustangs, in addition to Harrington, included Diana Carter (1-for-4) and Michaela Motch, who was 2-for-4 with a triple and grand slam.

“Even though Alisal is a weak team, we didn’t play down to their level,” Gilroy coach Catherine Hallada said. “We adjusted our hitting and played the game we know how to play.”

Gilroy will now prepare for a game at home Thursday at 4:30 p.m. with Alvarez (4-13-2 overall , 1-5 TCAL).
